What the Fan Zone is

The Fan Zone turns everyday supporters into a real, named community — The Lane Family. It’s a free digital membership: each fan gets a personal Lane number and a phone membership card with a QR code. When they come to a game, a steward scans that card and the fan earns a “heart” for attending. Over a season it builds a real picture of who backs the club and how often — the foundation for loyalty rewards, better matchday promotion, and hard numbers to show sponsors.

How a fan joins & gets scanned
1
Open the Fan Zone
The fan goes to raynerslanefc.co.uk/fan-zone.html — on their phone is easiest.
2
Create their account
They tap “Create My Account” and enter their name, email and a password. Their details are stored privately for the club — never shown publicly.
3
Get their Lane card + QR
They’re given a unique Lane number (e.g. LANE-4500) and a digital membership card with a QR code.
4
Save it to their phone
Add to home screen or screenshot the card, so it’s ready to show at the gate — no printing needed.
5
Show it on matchday
At the game they show the QR to a steward to be scanned. That’s it for the fan.
6
Collect their hearts
Every game they’re scanned in, their card gains a heart — building an attendance history they can see grow.
Tell every fan
“Join The Lane Family free in a minute — get your Lane card, then just show it at every game to collect your hearts.” The more members, the stronger every point below.

How to scan on matchday

Any committee member or steward can scan — all you need is a phone. It’s PIN-protected, so only staff can check people in.

1
Open the Scanner
On your phone go to raynerslanefc.co.uk/scan.html.
2
Enter the club PIN
The scanner is staff-only — type the club PIN to unlock it.
3
Check the match date
It defaults to today. Only change it if you’re logging a past game.
4
Start the camera & point
Tap “Start Camera” and point at the fan’s Lane QR. It scans automatically — no button to press per fan.
5
Watch for the tick
You’ll see Lane #4500 — heart #7. If they’ve already been scanned today you’ll get already scanned — so nobody is double-counted.
6
Keep going
Scan the next fan, and the next. A running count shows how many you’ve checked in. Every scan saves instantly.

HEART
fan’s card updates instantly

In plain English: the QR just holds the fan’s Lane number. Scanning sends that number and the match date to a secure club system, which logs the attendance in the club’s database (one check-in per fan per game) and instantly adds the heart to their card. Nothing sensitive is ever shown publicly, and only a staff PIN can record a check-in.

The payoff
Why it makes The Lane stronger

This isn’t just a gimmick — it’s how a non-league club builds a genuine supporter base and turns it into money and momentum.

A real supporter list
Named, contactable members instead of anonymous faces — so the club can promote memberships, events, the 100 Club and sponsors straight to the people who care.
Numbers that sell
You’ll know exactly how many turn up and how often. “X members, Y at every home game” is the single most powerful line in any sponsorship pitch — it turns sponsorship from charity into marketing.
Loyalty & buzz
The hearts reward turning up. Regulars can be recognised, milestones celebrated, and lapsed fans gently pulled back — a club that feels alive.
Smoother matchdays
A clean, instant headcount and check-in — no clipboard, no guesswork — and a growing record of every game’s attendance.
The one-line pitch
Every scan makes the club’s story bigger. More members and more scanned attendance means more to show sponsors, more people to sell to, and more reasons for the community to feel part of The Lane. Get every fan signed up, and scan every one, every game.
